Kelli Ward is trolling her fellow Republican challengers once again! The former State Senator from Lake Havasu City, and now a candidate for the U.S. Senate, is attending the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio this week. In contrast, U.S. Senator John McCain decided to skip the convention in order to campaign back in Arizona. McCain says that he has, “always done that when I’m up,” for election, because “We have a late primary in Arizona.”
At the GOP convention, on “Media Row,” Ward has taken it upon herself to troll as many television and radio media organizations as possible. You would think that perhaps she would take this as an opportunity to spread her message of supposed “conservatism,” but instead, she has taken the time to mock and belittle her opponents. Ward is pushing to have a one-on-one debate with Senator McCain.
Not so fast my friends, there are two other Republican opponents running in the primary: Clair Van Steenwyk and Alex Meluskey. Shouldn’t they get a fair chance to engage in this vicious debate Kelli Ward is proposing? Isn’t that within their First Amendment rights as a candidate? You would be correct! However, that is the last possible thing that Kelli Ward and her libertarian campaign wants. According to the Arizona Republic, Ward said:
“I don’t think it’s worthwhile for anybody in the audience, for anybody in Arizona, to have to listen to the two lesser candidate who don’t poll over 4 percent, one of whom is running in two races at the federal level. … I think that would be kind of ridiculous.”
Interesting… Perhaps Ward is afraid of Alex Meluskey who has recently accused Ward of not truly being pro-life. Meluskey even released a press release about Ward saying, “Kelli Ward’s claims [about being pro-life] are even thinner. The fact is my opponents cannot be trusted to protect the supreme individual right to life.” Or, maybe Ward is actually unprepared for a substantive debate that would not include conspiracy theories about black U.N. helicopters, 9/11 inside jobs, or her favorite: chemtrails.
Alas, at least Kelli Ward is doing what she does best at the Republican National Convention: absolutely nothing. Cleveland, you can keep her!
