The U.S. Needs John McCain

We need John McCain.

The world is at a critical point. Terrorist groups, like ISIS, are gaining strength and attacking more and more with little to no consequences. It is abundantly clear that the current United States strategy is failing. President Obama declines to see any fault in his strategy and has refused to alter administration responses. Our leadership is failing.

With ISIS moving around the earth with impunity, we need leaders with clout and a voice, like John McCain. Voters trust John McCain’s voice on foreign policy and his opposition to the weak Obama agenda on foreign policy. John McCain is the clear voice of experience and reason on foreign policy in the United States. McCain, as chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, plays a significant role in our nation’s military actions.

Are voters going to replace John McCain in a time of war with a non-serious candidate like Kelli Ward? Kelli Ward has no foreign policy experience whatsoever. Her only political experience comes from her time as a senator in the Arizona State Senate. McCain has years of diplomatic, military, and foreign policy experience that will benefit our nation and Arizona. Even worse is the Democratic choice for the Arizona Senate seat, Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick. Kirkpatrick has shown time and time again that she stands with Obama and the democratic agenda. If elected, Kirkpatrick would continue the failed policies of the current administration, and allow ISIS to gain even more strength.

McCain is an outspoken critic of the Obama administration’s anti-terrorism strategy. McCain even predicted terrorist attacks if ISIS was permitted to gain ground. McCain recently stated,

Unfortunately, we had predicted that we were not defeating isis and they are certainly not contained, and we need boots on the ground and we need a strategy– not just more of the same. More of the same doesn’t get it.

McCain’s calls for a better strategy and more military force are not just a reaction to the Paris attacks, he has been advocating to stop ISIS for years. He is the solid voice of reason we need. McCain stated,

Well, I think we have to have a strategy and that entails americans boots on the ground along with a coalition force. We’ve got to have a strategy and we have to understand ISIS is not undefeatable. We’re the most powerful nation on earth where our allies can defeat ISIS. If we don’t, we’re going to see more attacks. This is a failed strategy or a nonexistent strategy. It’s got to change or it’s going to be a matter of time before there’s an attack on the United States of America.

Now is the time for America to show her strength. We need a voice of leadership and experience, and John McCain is that voice.
