The consumer finance firm announced that it will expand its operations to the Fiesta District in Mesa, bringing with it nearly 1,000 jobs.
The Phoenix Business Journal reports:
Dallas-based Santander (NYSE: SC) will lease 117,000 square feet at the Centrica development and plans to bring up to 970 jobs. The finance firm is expected to occupy the facility by January.
The positions pay an average annual salary of $51,000, according to the company.
Mesa Mayor John Giles raved about Santander’s entry into his city and the Fiesta District.
“This neighborhood is experiencing a renaissance with new housing, new jobs and growing education and healthcare industries,” the mayor said in a statement. “Santander Consumer USA’s addition of nearly a thousand new jobs is a big deal.”
This will be the first Arizona location for the firm.
