Last week, Governor Ducey, along with Governor Baker of Massachusetts and Governor Ricketts of Nebraska, joined the Executive Committee of the Republican Governors Association.
These governors were elected to replace Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey, Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, and Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin, all of whom resigned their RGA positions in order to focus on their 2016 Presidential campaigns.
“The RGA is the most effective political organization in the country because our governors are directly involved in its process and success, and I’m proud to have Governors Baker, Ducey and Ricketts join the RGA Executive Committee,” said RGA Chairman Bill Haslam in a press release. “These newly elected GOP governors, only six months into their terms, are getting results for their states by driving successful reform and already have impressive records and high approval ratings. They will be valuable members of the RGA’s leadership.”
Currently, the Executive Committee is comprised of RGA Chairman Governor Bill Haslam of Tennessee, RGA Vice Chair Susana Martinez of New Mexico, RGA Policy Chair Mary Fallin of Oklahoma, and at-large members Governor Nikki Haley of South Carolina, Governor Mike Pence of Indiana, Governor Rick Scott of Florida, and now Governors Ducey, Baker and Ricketts.
