“America’s remedy for securing the borders is three words: Gov. Jan Brewer.”
- Chuck Norris, martial arts expert and conservative icon.
Yes, that’s a real quote.
Looking for that “must have” gift for mom this Christmas?
Worry no longer, because on November 1st, Broadside Books, an imprint of HarperCollins, will release “Scorpions for Breakfast,” Arizona Governor Jan Brewers memoir. The 208-page book is already available for pre-order on Amazon.com.
No, the book is not paying homage to the German rock band “The Scorpions“, but rather is a reference to Brewer’s toughness on the most pressing issues facing the State of Arizona today.
According to HarperCollins’ website, the book details how “America’s toughest governor defends her state and calls on President Obama to keep our border safe.”
208 pages devoted to guns, illegal immigrants, beheadings, liberal media bias, good times with Greta, and complaints about being snubbed by the White House. Sounds fascinating.
More from today’s Capitol Times blog:
The Web page describes Brewer as “one of the most popular conservative political figures in America today,” citing her 400,000 Facebook fans and million-plus YouTube views. The page outlines her battles with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Obama administration over SB 1070.
“At the center of the controversy is the state’s Republican governor, Jan Brewer, a woman who has been hailed as a politician so tough she eats ‘scorpions for breakfast,’” read the description on HarperCollins’ website. “In this sure-to-be headline-making book, Governor Brewer offers an in-depth explanation of the factors behind the law, detailing the scope of the immigration problem and its impact on Arizona, and makes a case for allowing states to override federal authority when necessary.”
400,000 fans on Facebook sounds like a lot, but is that enough to warrant a book? Looking for perspective, I consulted Facebook leaderboard stats. Turns out Brewer is number 27 on the “Politicians” leaderboard, just behind French President Nicolas Sarkozy and ahead of apartheid warrior Nelson Mandela.
She’s still got a long way to catch Right Wing Queen Sarah Palin who sits atop of the conservative rankings with just under 3,000,000 fans, but publishing her memoir is a good start.
Live it up Jan. This is your Moment of Glory.
